“Better to see something once, then to hear about it a thousand times.”
Weekend spent travelling, is a weekend spent well. My previous Saturday marked my journey to Pratapgarh Farms.
I heard about it several times and finally managed to visit the place. Such a soothing experience. I loved how the place had an essence of pureness and simplicity, taking you to a world different from where we wake up every day. So basic, yet so refreshing.
Starting with the blog, I would first like to share a few tips that would help you if you plan to visit the place:
Tip 1: If you are visiting during summers, do carry your sun glasses or a hat because it is really hot there.
Tip 2: You don’t need to worry about carrying too many bottles. Yes, that’s true. They have an amazing arrangement of really fresh and cold water at every few kilometres of distance.
Tip 3: Carry a comfortable swim suit or a t-shirt and pyjamas. There is an activity of water bath and mud bath, so you will have to change.
Tip 4: It is advisable to call the management before your visit. So they can make food and other arrangements accordingly.
Moving on, let’s get started with the virtual tour to Pratapgarh Farms.
HOW TO REACH:
The only drawback I felt of the place was that it is really difficult (nearly impossible) to reach the place without your conveyance. There are no public transport that will take you to the place. Even if you plan to travel through train, you will not find anything, any rickshaw or three wheeler, to take you from the station to the destination. So you can only get to the place either by your own car or by booking an OLA
or a cab. Then for the way ahead, the google maps will do.
That’s the giant door that marks the entry to the farms.
As you enter, you are welcomed with the flowers and tika. There are people playing music whenever someone enters the farm. At the entrance, you first need to buy the tickets worth Rs 1000/- per head. Then they give an activity card on which all the activities are mentioned and you need to keep it safe.
Probably the best part of the place. I love any and every place that offers good food and this farm made a great impact. They offer you breakfast as well as lunch. There is a separate section with tables and stools where you can sit and enjoy your food.
The breakfast menu has:
- Parathas- They taste the best. Nor too much stuffed neither too less, just the right amount of stuffing with the perfect flavours.
- Jalebi and Dahi- If you love this combination, there is nothing you can judge about it. They always taste good.
- Poori and Aloo Sabji-Just like what it tastes at every other Delhi street food stall.
For the lunch you get:
There are a lot of options to try from. I am going to share a few with you.
- Tandoori Roti
- Mix Veg- Not so good.
- Shahi Paneer – On point
- Rajma- 10/10
- Chowmein- One of the best noodles I have had in a long time.
- Halwa- Tasted perfect.
One-in-all, the food was just yum.
Now comes the major attraction of the place. The place offers you a great deal of activities. You will have a lot of options to get your hands in, from agricultural to sports to pottery and a lot more.
The entire area is divided into lawns and hence a group of activities are organised in these lawns. The activities mentioned on your activity card are also according to the lawns, so you won’t find it difficult to reach any section and nothing will be left out. This is something really great!
There are a number of activities like:
- Kanche and Lattoo
- Tractor Riding
- Camel Riding
- Butter Making
- Cart Riding
- Chakki Grinding
- Indoor supports like Carrom, Ludo etc.
- Mud Bath
- Water Bath
The management has done a great arrangement for everything. The place provides you with a lot of facilities that will make you leave with a happy face.
- As I already mentioned, you get water facility after every few kilometres. Also, the shikanji and chaach are offered full time.
- There are rest rooms provided with khaats and mooda to have a nap if you feel like.
- There are people to guide you through your way. Every activity area is being supervised by a team of 3-6 workers.
- Proper safety measures are being taken.
- There are sign boards respective to every activity area. So you can easily reach to your next activity spot.
I had a great experience at Pratapgarh Farms. It was really exhausting because we were there for about 6-7 hours trying one activity after another. But the tiredness was worth the visit. I thoroughly enjoyed being there because you don’t often visit such places. We are more into malls and cafes. But this place has a completely different ambience and leaves you with a completely different travel story to share.
Till the next time, Stay happy, Stay YOU. 🙂
